Families in Rochdale are set to benefit from a transformative £1.31 million funding boost as part of the government’s Start for Life initiative, aimed at providing crucial support to parents and young children from pregnancy up to the age of two.

The funding, announced for the 2025/26 financial year, will enhance the services offered through Rochdale’s Family Hub network. These hubs serve as vital one-stop shops for families, offering support with:

• Mental health services to foster positive early relationships between parents and their babies.
• Infant feeding support, including breastfeeding advice and guidance.
• Parenting classes to equip families with skills and confidence for the early years.
• Access to information and services tailored to the needs of local families.

Rochdale MP Paul Waugh celebrated the announcement, stating:
