John Shaw of Littleborough was last week awarded Rochdale Man of the Year 2024 in recognition of his tireless charitable work, particularly through his contributions to Multibank.

This impactful initiative redistributes surplus stock from businesses to families in need, including essentials such as baby clothes, bedding, and household items.

John’s exceptional dedication was acknowledged on a national stage this week when Paul Waugh MP commended his efforts during a session in the House of Commons.

Mr. Waugh described John’s work as transformative for the community and praised his well-deserved accolade, saying his “commitment and generosity make a real difference, and his recognition as Rochdale Man of the Year is well deserved.”

Leader of the House, Lucy Powell MP, joined in the celebration, delivering heartfelt congratulations: “I absolutely join in congratulating John Shaw, Rochdale’s Man of the Year … given his own outstanding work with Multibank and beyond.”

The recognition of John’s contributions serves as a reminder of the incredible impact that dedicated individuals can have on their communities. His work with Multibank and elsewhere continues to provide essential support to families in need, setting an inspiring example for others to follow.
